Minister of National Defense Güler leaves question on Israel unanswered

After CHP Chairman Özgür Özel questioned the existence of an Israeli threat at the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) General Assembly, Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler said, "Be a little patient, we will see."

Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler, at the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) General Assembly's closed session regarding the Israeli threat, made statements after CHP Chairman Özgür Özel's remarks, "There is no Israeli threat, it could not be substantiated at all," were brought up. 

Güler stated, "I could not listen to what the Honorable Chairman said, but we tried to present the information they desired and would need there yesterday. Be a little patient, we will see. I am saying be a little patient."

RESPONSE TO ÖZEL'S CRITICISMS

Before the AKP group meeting, when a journalist reminded him of Özgür Özel's remarks regarding the closed session at the TBMM General Assembly, Minister Güler said, "Please do not ask questions about yesterday."

Regarding the Claw Operation, in response to the question, "You had said, 'We will close the lock in November'," Güler replied, "Let November come, we will see." 

To the reporter's reminder, "When asked in August, you also said 'We will see in November'," Güler said, "You can probably guess the work being done there, right? We are dealing with a matter we have been dealing with for 40 years. If you ask in August, of course I will say November. Hopefully... We will talk when November comes."

EVACUATION OF CITIZENS IN LEBANON 

Responding to a question regarding the evacuation of Turkish citizens in Lebanon, Minister Güler said, "A statement will be made about them. If you follow along shortly, you will hear it all."
