Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç made statements at an iftar program he attended in Artvin.
In his speech, Tunç pointed out that real municipalism enabled the AKP to be established, saying, "It caused it to come to power in a short time. Real municipalism, with the AK Party coming to power in 2002, turned into a politics of works and services throughout Turkey, ensuring our country's development in every field over 22 years."
"WITHOUT BEING DEPENDENT ON THE IMF IN THE ECONOMY..."
Emphasizing that they said "people first," Tunç stated the following:
"We worked to empower our people. We worked to empower our people in every field, from education to health, from social policies to culture, justice, and security. We said, 'Let people live so that the state may live,' and we built hospitals, schools, roads, dams, and universities. We introduced our country to world-class projects. With stable development moves, we equipped all 81 provinces of Turkey with works. We never gave up on stable development moves so that we could be independent in energy, independent in the defense industry, and continue our path in the economy without being dependent on the IMF."
Minister Tunç said that while ensuring Turkey's physical development, they have also always fought against evil forces that wanted to stand in the way of this development.
"THEY TRIED TO INCITE TERROR"
Underlining that the tutelary and coup-plotting mentality constantly tried to put obstacles in their way, Tunç used the expression, "They issued memorandums, incited the Gezi events, and called it 17-25. They tried to incite terror, they dug trenches. They attempted the treacherous coup attempt of July 15, but we overcame all these troubles with the support of our nation."
"WE REMOVED THE OBSTACLES ONE BY ONE"
Stating that they owe a debt of gratitude to the nation, Tunç said, "No matter how much we serve our nation, it is not enough. Hopefully, we will continue to maintain these stable development moves in the coming period. We will also continue to raise our country's democracy standards. We have removed the obstacles in front of fundamental rights and freedoms one by one."
"WE INCREASED THE FREEDOM TO SEEK JUSTICE"
Drawing attention to the reforms they carried out in the Constitution, which are considered a silent revolution, and that they expanded fundamental rights and freedoms, Tunç continued as follows:
"We increased the freedom to seek justice. From the right to information to the right to public auditing, from strengthening women's rights to children's rights, we have expanded fundamental rights and freedoms in our Constitution as much as possible. We implemented reforms in our Constitution that reduced the coup-plotting and tutelary spirit. We abolished the State Security Courts and the Specially Authorized Courts. We brought the structure of the Supreme Military Council, the Council of Judges and Prosecutors, and the Constitutional Court into compliance with the principle of a democratic state of law."
"OUR GOAL IS TO CREATE A CIVIL CONSTITUTION"
Stating that their goal at the beginning of the Turkey vision is to create a new, democratic, and civil constitution, Tunç concluded his words as follows:
"At the beginning of the Turkey vision, our goal is to create a new, democratic, and civil constitution. We wholeheartedly believe that our political parties will achieve this by reaching a consensus in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. We are building a peaceful Turkey where we fight against all kinds of terror, where the roots of terror are eradicated, and where our children and youth look to the future with confidence. We will continue to defend equity and justice in the world and stand by the oppressed."
