Memleket Party Chairman Muharrem İnce, made statements at the Memleket Party Headquarters.
İnce stated that his party will field a candidate in Istanbul.
Highlights from İnce's statements are as follows:
CRITICISM OF FAKE NEWS
Mr. Ekrem İmamoğlu called me and couldn't reach me. He sent me a message yesterday morning, then sent another asking if his message was delivered. I replied, there is no such thing. I spent a lot of my pocket money on the newspaper that wrote this when I was young; I wish I hadn't given it, I wish I hadn't read it. They constantly write fake news about us.
When I first met Mr. İmamoğlu, he was a candidate for district chairman and I was a member of parliament. I have known him since that day; he even invited me as a speaker when he was elected district chairman, and we have known each other since then.
CRITICISM OF THE SIX-PARTY TABLE
Eight months ago, there was the Six-Party Table. They gave 39 parliamentary seats to this table. They gave them everything they asked for. So, what did this Six-Party Table do to the CHP? It abandoned it. In such an environment, Muharrem İnce reached out to the CHP. I spoke with both Mr. Özgür and Mr. Ekrem.
There was not a single word of discussion regarding Muharrem İnce personally. I had no personal demands. I am not the type to discuss things like, 'I want three ministries.' Politics is a matter of integrity. I look at the news being written, and I do not deign to respond.
These friends of mine do not know the 1991 elections. They were not in the youth branch or the provincial presidency. They do not know how we were disgraced in 1991 after the success of 1989. Neither Mr. Özgür nor Mr. Ekrem knows. Their political memory does not reach that far. They lack that depth.
"EVEN KAMER GENÇ DID NOT CALL IT DERSIM"
Why are we people of different worlds? Our children are being martyred in Syria and Iraq. We are struggling against the United States. That is why the Memleket Party is the third way. There is no one left but us who remembers secularism. We will remind this nation of it. We do not have a province called Dersim. The name of that province is Tunceli. Even Kamer Genç did not call it Dersim; he called it Tunceli.
Sheikh Said is a traitor, period. Atatürk said so in his Nutuk (Speech), and that is how it is. Just like İskilipli Atıf Hodja.
No one is less equal; everyone is equal. Everyone in this country has suffered, everyone. In the Diyarbakır prison on September 12, the Kurds suffered. In Mamak, the nationalists suffered. In Metris, the leftists suffered. These are not right things.
THE DECLARATION CRISIS IN PARLIAMENT
You cannot say, 'I won't be on the same A4 paper as the AKP' when a terror declaration comes to Parliament. When it comes to terrorism, you must support the fight against terrorism. You must boost the morale of the soldiers lying in -30 degrees on the mountains. If the Memleket Party had been in Parliament, I would not have approved Sweden's NATO membership. I am addressing the CHP voters who call me a separatist. We are as different as black and white.
LIBYA MANDATE
I say yes to the Libya mandate and the Blue Homeland. As the Memleket Party, our policy is to send the refugees out and bring the doctors and engineers who have left back in. I invite those who care for the orphans, those who place a piece of bread found on the ground in a high place, those who do not remain silent in the face of injustice, and the honest, decent people of this country to understand the Memleket Party. We have a stance and a principle. This is not proportional to our vote share. Today it is 1, tomorrow it could be a thousand. During the campaign period, it reached up to 16 percent. Ecevit became the leading party with 21 percent, then dropped to 1 percent.
Highlights from İnce's speech are as follows:
Those who have failed to be a source of hope for 22 years can never be a source of hope. Erdoğan is tired, and the voters are ready to send him away. But the voters want to trust the person who will replace him. If you cannot distance yourself from terrorist organizations and if you appear side-by-side with the PKK and FETÖ, you cannot defeat Erdoğan.
The country is divided into two poles that do not listen to each other, and this is not a good thing for our country.
How can I form an alliance when the CHP says yes to Sweden, and how can I form one if they are constantly 'brewing' with the DEM Party? We must have a stance.
Changing is one thing, becoming something else is another. The party of my youth is gone, and a different party has taken its place.
