Muharrem İnce criticizes CHP over DEM Party: You will lose Turkey while trying to win Istanbul

Memleket Party Chairman Muharrem İnce made statements regarding the upcoming local elections.

Responding to questions from Hakan Çelik on CNN Türk, İnce criticized both the government and the opposition.

"There is a language of threat in the government," said İnce, adding, "And in the opposition, there is this: 'If you don't vote for us, the AKP will win.' Both are threatening. If it comes, it comes. Is such an election possible? The people of Hatay cannot be threatened."

İnce continued his remarks as follows;

"THESE ARE NOT THE RIGHT THINGS TO DO"

"I say to the opposition: Don't you have a project?... You don't say 'My candidate is good,' you don't say 'My projects are good.' Let everyone step aside, let one person remain, and let them compete with the AKP. This is against democracy. We say: 'We are not satisfied with this Erdoğan. But we are not satisfied with the opposition either.' The opposition only spreads fear in society; 'If you don't elect me, the AKP will come.' These are not the right things to do. Problems are not solved by threatening or spreading fear."

Reacting to the CHP's cooperation with the DEM Party in Esenyurt, İnce continued;

"YOU WILL LOSE TURKEY WHILE TRYING TO WIN ISTANBUL"

"People have seen Byzantium on these lands. They saw the Crusaders. They saw Timur. They saw the British, the French. They saw the Italians. They saw the Greeks. They saw the Russians. They saw terror. If you do the wrong things in security policies, it takes precedence over the economy. Even if the dollar hits 100 liras, you cannot win an election. I have always warned about this. You are doing it wrong. If you send soft greetings to the PKK, FETÖ, and terrorist organizations, and if you try to 'get DEM-ified' just to get a couple of votes, the nation will hold you accountable at the ballot box. That is where the problem started anyway.

This Esenyurt debate of yours is losing you votes. You are doing the wrong thing just to get a couple of votes. These are not the right things to do. You will lose Turkey while trying to 'win Istanbul,' and you will lose Istanbul as well. It happened the same way in the 2023 Presidential elections.

I am warning you... This method is wrong. PKK flags are being unfurled in the Taurus Mountains. The people of Yalova see this, the people of Muğla see this, and the people of Edirne see this."

STATEMENT ON THE TABLE OF SIX

Explaining the reason for the collapse of the Table of Six, İnce said, "It had to collapse. Because the Table of Six was not an alliance of principles, but an alliance of interests. When you appoint 7 Vice Presidents, no one trusts you. You cannot provide confidence. The setup is wrong."

'KILIÇDAROĞLU DID NOT ACCEPT MY PROPOSAL'

Recalling the proposal he made to Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, the joint Presidential candidate of the Nation Alliance before the May elections, İnce said, "Kılıçdaroğlu did not accept my proposal. 'Come out as the Presidential candidate, and let Akşener be the Vice President.' I said it on live television. They did not give people confidence. It was a strategy error. When there are 7 Vice Presidents, the question of who will pay their salaries arises. It was viewed as the President becoming a clerk to his deputies."
