Explosive statement from Muharrem İnce about Özgür Özel! 'It was clear back then that you would be "DEM-ing"!'

Homeland Party (Memleket Partisi) Chairman Muharrem İnce held a march in Yalova as part of his local election campaign.

Responding to journalists' questions after the march, İnce targeted CHP Chairman Özgür Özel.

When asked about where Özel was on the night of the 2018 presidential elections, İnce replied, "That question has become a Stone Age question. A Neolithic Age question, but I will answer it anyway. Özgür Özel was an apprentice back then. This is not my quote; it belongs to Engin Altay. Engin Altay was the group deputy chairman. He said of Özgür Özel, 'He was my apprentice.' So, first of all, he should ask his master where I was. I was with his master. I was at the Swissotel. I was with CHP Group Deputy Chairman Engin Altay. There were 50 people with us. If the apprentices don't remember those days, they can ask their master."

Continuing his criticism of the CHP leader, İnce said:

"Let me tell him this: It was clear back then that you would be 'DEM-ing,' Özgür Özel. Everyone knows that when I lost the election and the HDP crossed the threshold, you were jumping for joy. That is why I do not want to talk about it anymore. I mean, you are busy forming a group for the DEM Party in the Istanbul Municipality. Look, Özgür Özel, leave those days alone, don't stir up the past too much; we all know that the CHP's system collapsed. You know that I couldn't appear in public because they couldn't provide me with information, because they couldn't give me information about the system and the results, and because I didn't know whether we had made it to the second round or not; you know that I discussed this with Mr. Engin Altay many times and that he has statements on the matter. Look, watch out, you might become the CHP Chairman who loses İzmir. Let me warn you this much."
