Muharrem İnce's response to Erdoğan on LGS: 'The 2025 LGS is tainted'

Following the announcement of the 2025 High School Entrance System (LGS) results, the fact that 719 students received full marks and that exam questions were circulating in PDF format while the exam was still ongoing sparked significant public backlash.
The exchange between Muharrem İnce and Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin became the center of the debate. While Minister Tekin's remarks, "We are explaining it clearly, as if explaining it to a moron," drew attention, İnce had responded by saying, "First put soap in the schools, then clean up the foul odors coming from your ministry."
THEY ARE ATTACKING IMAM HATIP SCHOOLS THROUGH LGS
Responding to journalists' questions on the plane returning from the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan argued that the criticisms directed at the LGS were a systematic attack on imam hatip schools.
Erdoğan used the following expressions:
“The success of imam hatip schools is now indisputably clear. There is a serious rise in the fields of science and social sciences. This situation has disturbed certain circles. At the root of this immoral smear campaign that has been going on for days lies hostility toward imam hatip schools.”
“Targeting our children who have successfully graduated from many imam hatip schools, especially Kartal Anatolian Imam Hatip, in this way is heartless. Trying to explain the success in the LGS with corruption is downright rude.”
“Turkey is one of the most successful countries in terms of exam security. Smearing these children does not fit humanity, conscience, or politics. If they have an ounce of dignity, they should apologize to these children whom they have lynched on social media.”
ESTABLISH AN INDEPENDENT COMMISSION, LET THE SUSPICION BE REMOVED
Responding to Erdoğan's statements via social media, Memleket Party Chairman Muharrem İnce recalled past exam scandals and called on the government to conduct a genuine investigation.
In his statement, İnce included the following words:
“If you have an ounce of honor or dignity, you would apologize to the children who took those exams because of the questions stolen in the past by the people you appointed to ÖSYM. You didn't listen to us then, and you are making the same mistake today.”
“The 2025 LGS is tainted. An independent commission must be established to remove this suspicion. If you truly want transparency, address the allegations seriously.”
