Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) mayoral candidate Murat Kurum answered journalists' questions on the Election Special 2024 program broadcast on KRT.

Kurum asked for votes by stating that the New Welfare Party, which is not part of the People's Alliance in the election, would not split the vote.

APPEALED TO VOTERS VIA NECMETTİN ERBAKAN

Defending the idea that New Welfare Party voters would support him by referencing 'Necmettin Erbakan', Kurum said:

“I do not think the New Welfare Party will split the vote because our teacher Erbakan's dream was Istanbul. When New Welfare Party voters go to the polls, they will clearly consider who their vote will benefit and reflect their will at the ballot box. They will clearly give an answer at the ballot box to the torment inflicted upon them.”

STATEMENT ON RETIREMENT PENSIONS

Kurum, who also addressed retirees—the demographic whose voting preference is most curious—in his speech, said regarding retirement pensions, "Will retirement pensions increase when the CHP municipality wins this election? The will working for our retirement pensions today is the will of the AKP."
