Murat Kurum had said 'We have taken the lead': The latest poll on Ekrem İmamoğlu's desk has been revealed!

Turkey will head to the polls for local elections on March 31, 2024. While Istanbul is at the forefront of the cities most curious about in these critical elections, the results of the election polls commissioned by the candidates have also begun to arrive.

KURUM HAD ANNOUNCED HE WAS 1.5 POINTS AHEAD

AKP and MHP's People's Alliance Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Mayoral candidate Murat Kurum had announced that he started the race 3 points behind but had moved 1.5 points ahead in the latest poll he commissioned.

THE POLL ON İMAMOĞLU'S DESK

Following Kurum's statement, the results of the latest poll on IMM Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu's desk have also been revealed. Sözcü columnist Aytunç Erkin shared the results of the poll he received from Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu's campaign office with only days left until the local elections to be held on March 31, 2024.

"WE ARE 2.9 POINTS AHEAD, THIS MARGIN WILL INCREASE IN THE FINAL WEEK"

Erkin stated that he was given the information: "We are 2.9 points ahead. Ekrem İmamoğlu is at 43.1 percent, Murat Kurum is at 40.2 percent, Meral Danış Beştaş is at 4 percent, and Buğra Kavuncu is at 3.5 percent. This margin will increase in the final week of the election. The joint results of several companies, including Metropoll, are like this."

Expressing that he finds it highly likely that the ruling party also possesses polls with similar results, Erkin reminded that AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has taken to the field and begun making harsh criticisms directed at İmamoğlu:

"Even names including Murat Kurum have made statements over an 'İmamoğlu-Kandil' relationship. DEM sources, on the other hand, use the expressions, 'We fielded the best candidate possible after Başak Demirtaş. Meral Danış Beştaş is the strongest name, and the assessment of a 'rabbit candidate' is not correct.'"
