Murat Kurum has overtaken Ekrem İmamoğlu in the latest poll! What is the point gap between them?
HBS Research Company has shared the results of its latest election poll conducted in Istanbul regarding the local elections on March 31, 2024. According to the poll, Murat Kurum, the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) mayoral candidate of the People's Alliance formed by the AKP and MHP, has overtaken the incumbent İBB Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu. Meanwhile, the rate of undecided voters drew attention.

MULTI-CANDIDATE ELECTION RACE IN ISTANBUL
The AKP has fielded Murat Kurum against the incumbent İBB Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu in order to win back Istanbul, which it lost in 2019.
The IYI Party, which decided to enter the local elections 'freely and independently', has nominated Buğra Kavuncu. The New Welfare Party will enter the race with Mehmet Altınöz, the Felicity Party with Birol Aydın, the Victory Party with Azmi Karamahmutoğlu, and the DEM Party with Meral Danış Beştaş and Murat Çepni.
While the race in Istanbul, where there will be a multi-candidate election, is expected to take place between Murat Kurum and Ekrem İmamoğlu, public opinion research companies continue their polling efforts.
Most recently, HBS Research conducted a survey in Istanbul with 2 thousand 925 people using the face-to-face interview method.
In the survey, the question "Which party will you vote for in the March 31 Metropolitan Municipality mayoral election?" was asked.
According to the poll, the vote shares of the parties for the municipal election are as follows:

CHP (Ekrem İmamoğlu) 36.9 percent
IYI Party (Buğra Kavuncu) 5.2 percent
DEM Party (Meral Danış Beştaş/Murat Çepni) 4.8 percent
Victory Party (Azmi Karamahmutoğlu) 2 percent
New Welfare Party (Mehmet Altınöz) 1.9 percent
Other 1.6 percent
Undecided 9.3 percent.
