AKP's Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality mayoral candidate Murat Kurum started his election campaign immediately after his candidacy was announced and distributed lentil soup to young people at a social space called "nevmekan" in Üsküdar.
Chatting with young people during the soup distribution, Kurum said that Nevmekans would be opened in 39 districts and that they would distribute lentil soup, occasionally tomato soup, and chicken broth, and announced that meat and rice would be served every Friday.
ANNOUNCED AS GOOD NEWS
Üsküdar Mayor Hilmi Türkmen shared a video on his X account with the note, "Gather around, young people, there is great news, you will love it! Every vote you give to our IMM candidate Murat Kurum will return as Nevmekans to every district of Istanbul. You heard it right; not only Üsküdar but all of Istanbul will experience the joy and comfort of 24/7 open, complimentary Nevmekans."
Speaking in the video shared by Türkmen, Murat Kurum said the following:
"We are setting out to increase the number of these venues together with our youth. We will build these and similar venues, our Nevmekans, in our 39 districts. We will provide you with the opportunity to work in the offices we will establish. Also, our friend said, 'It's always lentil soup.' We are changing the lentil soup. Our mayor will provide tomato soup, yayla soup, and chicken broth from time to time. Every Friday at 6 o'clock, in addition to the soup, we will also serve meat and rice."
