Mustafa Bozbey's statement revealed: He claimed his son filed a petition saying 'my son is slandering'!

As part of the investigation conducted by the Bursa Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, various accusations were directed at a number of individuals, including former Nilüfer Mayor and suspended Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mustafa Bozbey.

It was reported that a total of 35 people have been arrested in the investigation, which includes allegations such as "forming an organization for the purpose of committing a crime," "bribery," and "laundering assets." While some of the suspects were released under judicial control and house arrest conditions, it was learned that Bozbey denied the accusations in his statement to the prosecutor's office.

STATEMENT REVEALED

While the investigation continues, the statement given to the prosecutor's office by Mustafa Bozbey, who was suspended from his post as Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor by the Ministry of Interior, has been revealed.

Stating that he transferred his shares in two different companies he founded in 1988 and 1996 to family members after being elected Mayor of Nilüfer in 1999, Bozbey denied the accusations against him and said he did not want to benefit from effective remorse.

Denying the allegations that he gave signature authority to the detained former mayor Turgay Erdem, Bozbey stated, "I do not want to benefit from effective remorse. The purpose of my assigning Turgay Erdem as coordinator deputy mayor during my term as Nilüfer Mayor between 2014-2019 was to accelerate the work and procedures in the municipalities. I absolutely did not give Turgay Erdem, the deputy mayor of the period, authority in the form of a single signature. As can be understood from the content of the document I submitted to the file, I only assigned Turgay Erdem as coordinator deputy mayor. I did not give this authority to Turgay Erdem for him to abuse it. I am a mayor who is in touch with the public and the citizens. I gave this authority to Turgay Erdem to better serve the citizens outside and to speed up the work in the internal functioning of the municipality. I do not think he abused this authority either. The date of this assignment is 2009, and the assignment period is 5 years. The assignment period ended in 2014," he assessed.

EMIN ADANUR'S FATHER FILED A PETITION SAYING 'MY SON IS SLANDERING'!

Speaking about the allegations of former Bursaspor President and contractor Emin Adanur, Bozbey said, "After I was elected Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor in 2024, he had irregular requests from me regarding tender issues. When I did not meet them, he harbored hostility toward me and gave the statements contained in the file. All of these statements are slanderous and none of them are true. Emin Adanur's allegations that bribes were given in exchange for irregularities in the parcel at block 7252, plot 1, and other block and sheet plots are completely slanderous. I absolutely did not ask for an apartment from him. There is not even such a conversation between us. I have no need for such a thing. Emin Adanur's father, Mehmet Adanur, came to me and said, 'My son is slandering, I have filed a petition with the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding these issues,'" he said.

'I NEVER DIRECTED ANY PROJECT TO MY BROTHER'S WIFE'

Stating that he has had a 40-year friendship with M.Z.A., an official of the construction company accused of paying bribes, Bozbey said, "There was absolutely no conversation between me and M.Z.A. regarding the places in question. I did not receive any bribes in exchange for irregularities in any of his projects. The apartment transfers in question were made to the real estate firm belonging to my cousin M.D. I have no connection with this firm. During my term as Nilüfer Mayor, I did not direct anyone to the architectural firm belonging to my brother's wife, I.A.B., for project design. I did not direct anyone, nor anyone who asked me, to I.A.B.'s architectural firm. However, if there was a charitable work involved, I did direct some charitable works to I.A.B. because she is my brother's wife. These works were public works such as mosques, schools, and health centers," he said.

'I HAVE NO CONNECTION WITH THE TITLE DEED TRANSFERS'

Stating that he has no connection with the real estate firm of his cousin M.D., Bozbey said, "For a period, I worked as a consultant for my cousin M.D. after my Nilüfer Mayoralty. However, I absolutely have no connection with the title deed transfers from the suspect contractor firms to this firm that you asked me about within the scope of the file. I have no information about the fact that no account movements were found in the title deed transfers from the suspect contractor firms to my cousin's firm. However, because I worked in the construction sector before, I know that title deed sales were sometimes made by giving cash by hand, but now, by law, these sales were made through banks," he assessed.

"The construction work of the private school located in Beşevler Neighborhood was undertaken by the real estate firm belonging to M.D. at that time. There are also invoices for the 8 million TL money movement in the file. A loan was used by showing the school land as collateral. At that time, we used a loan of approximately 21 million TL from banks. Upon the request of one of the lenders, it was requested that the money be paid to the firm that would build the construction so that it would not be used for other purposes. Upon this, the money was first paid to M.D.'s firm in one go. Since overpayment was made according to the stage of the construction, this money was transferred by the school through M.D.'s firm for loan repayment and some other payments. A current account-like situation emerged between these two firms. The money coming to my wife Seden Bozbey from my cousin M.D.'s firm is for the school's loan, SGK (Social Security Institution), and tax payments. These SGK payments are the SGK payments of the workers working during the construction process of the school and are in exchange for the other firm's SGK debts. Otherwise, it is not the SGK payments of the school's own employees by M.D.'s firm. We were in a tight spot at that time. We received a portion of the money we sent to M.D.'s firm in advance in pieces. When too much money came to my wife Seden Bozbey, it was sent to my daughter Side Bozbey so that there would be no accounting problems. She used this money to pay the tax debts of the school and the private tutoring center."

'IF THERE WAS A PRECAUTIONARY DECISION REGARDING THE RELEVANT FIRM, IT COULD NOT HAVE ENTERED THE TENDER'

When asked about the allegations that the company mentioned in the investigation into the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality received a tender from the Bursa Metropolitan Municipality, Bozbey said, "The tender in question was made through the EKAP (Electronic Public Procurement Platform) system. There is no irregularity in the tender. I do not know the relevant firm either. If there was a precautionary decision regarding the relevant firm, it could not have entered the tender. It is not possible for me to know whether there is an investigation being conducted into the relevant firm. On the contrary, not allowing a firm that is not banned from tenders to enter the tender constitutes the crime of rigging the tender. I do not accept any of the allegations asked to me within the scope of the file. The real estate firm belonging to M.D. and the construction firm belonging to N.E. are not firms managed by me, nor are they firms I founded," he said.

DENIED THE ALLEGATIONS

Denying the accusations against him, Mustafa Bozbey said, "I absolutely did not form a criminal organization for profit. I did not commit any irregularities. I did not receive a bribe from anyone. I consider these allegations an insult to myself and I reject all of them. I do not accept the accusations against me," he stated.
