Mustafa Destici’s ‘FETÖ praise’ resurfaces after he targets political parties

Nine of our soldiers were martyred in clashes with PKK terrorists attempting to infiltrate the Claw-Lock Operation region in northern Iraq.

While the martyrdom of 21 soldiers in the last 20 days has plunged Turkey into mourning, Mustafa Destici, Chairman of the Great Unity Party (BBP), a junior partner of the People's Alliance, made a scandalous post.

In a post on his X (Twitter) account, Destici targeted numerous opposition parties.

Accusing political parties of being political extensions of the PKK terrorist organization, Destici stated, “Terrorism must be fought with all its elements, especially its political extensions.”

“FETÖ PRAISE” RESURFACES

Following his post, which drew significant backlash on social media, Destici was reminded of his past praise for FETÖ.

The BBP leader's statements supporting Gülen before the July 15 coup attempt have returned to the agenda.

In footage shared on social media, Destici is clearly heard saying at a meeting, “Let me state this clearly: of course, I do not see the Hizmet movement as a terrorist organization. I have said this before, especially as an armed terrorist organization. In that case, there would have to be weapons present, there would have to be organization members, there would have to be militants.”

CRIMINAL COMPLAINT AGAINST DESTICI

Reactions from politicians to Destici’s scandalous post were swift.

Justice Party Chairman Vecdet Öz announced that he would file a criminal complaint, citing the post made by BBP Chairman Mustafa Destici on the X platform.

"WHO ARE YOU, MUSTAFA DESTICI?"

Democrat Party Deputy Chairman Cemal Enginyurt, speaking on Sözcü TV, addressed Destici, saying, “If you are looking for a traitor, if you are looking for a terrorist, look in the mirror.”

Enginyurt made the following remarks:

"Who are you, Mustafa Destici? If you are looking for a traitor, if you are looking for a terrorist, look in the mirror, Mustafa Destici. Our hearts are burning, our children have been martyred, mothers are crying, children are crying, fathers are crying. Look at the baseness of these people! Shamelessly, over the martyrs, they say to us, 'Are you not ashamed to publish a condolence message?' You insolent people!"
