MYK meets today in the 'null and void' CHP: Remaining team in CHP to be expelled

Following the departure of Özgür Özel and 90 accompanying deputies from the party to establish the YENİ Party, all eyes have turned to the Central Executive Committee (MYK) meeting expected to take place today. It is claimed that the status of some names remaining within the party will be evaluated at the MYK, which is stated to convene under the chairmanship of Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu.

According to a report by the Türkiye newspaper, some Party Assembly members and administrators, who were reportedly left in the CHP against the possibility that the "absolute nullity" decision might be overturned by the Court of Cassation despite Özel's departure, will be among the agenda items of the meeting.

The report stated that names such as Serkan Özcan, Bihlun Tamaylıgil, Yankı Bağcıoğlu, and Güldem Atabay, who were part of Özgür Özel's last MYK in the CHP, are also among those who remained in the party. It was alleged that the Kılıçdaroğlu camp would specifically address the status of Selin Sayek Böke and Gül Çiftçi, and that disciplinary processes could be initiated against these individuals.

It is also expected that some deputies, who initiated intra-party opposition following the events during the group chairmanship election and are preparing to publish a declaration, will be brought to the agenda at the MYK.

Another notable development in the separation process within the CHP was the resignation of former CHP Secretary General Önder Sav. Sav, who openly supported Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu against Deniz Baykal at the 2010 convention, announced that he has left the CHP, of which he had been a member for 70 years.
