The name debate within YENİ Parti has returned to the agenda during the party's Central Executive Board meeting.

According to information reflecting from Ankara political circles, the party leadership has evaluated three alternative names against the possibility of an unfavorable decision from the Constitutional Court.

It was stated that the options coming to the fore for the party are Değişim Partisi (Change Party), Yeni Türkiye Partisi (New Turkey Party), and Türkiye’nin Yeni Partisi (Turkey's New Party).

The final decision regarding the name change is expected to be shaped according to the outcome of the Constitutional Court process.

The process began when Yenilik Partisi Chairman Öztürk Yılmaz applied to the Court of Cassation on the grounds that there was a similarity between the two party names.

After the Court of Cassation accepted the application and sent a notification to YENİ Parti to change its name, the party leadership appealed to the Constitutional Court.

The YENİ Parti front had previously given the message that the name would not be changed.

The party's chairman, Özgür Özel, also stated in his remarks regarding the debates, "The public gave the party its name."

It is stated that the party leadership is awaiting the Constitutional Court's decision on one hand, while preparing for a possible name change on the other.
