Nebi Hatipoğlu responds to Özel's Ensar Foundation remarks: 'We will increase the resources of our non-governmental organizations'

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel had targeted People's Alliance Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality mayoral candidate Nebi Hatipoğlu over 'Ensar Foundation' allegations during the opening of the 100th Year Culture Center. In his response to Özel, Hatipoğlu used the term "caretaker" and stated, "Once in office, we will increase the capacity and resources of our non-governmental organizations. We will govern Eskişehir together."

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel had harshly criticized Nebi Hatipoğlu, who was elected as an MP from the IYI Party and later switched to the AKP, during the opening of the 100th Year Culture Center.

"HE WILL HAND IT OVER TO THE ENSAR FOUNDATION"

In his statement, Özel used the term "thief of the national will" for Hatipoğlu and said the following:

"So what will happen if the one who steals the votes and runs away wins? I followed my provincial chairman carefully yesterday. A closed meeting, a foundation meeting. A foundation close to the AKP. He says, 'Let me just get elected, I will open all the resources of the municipality to this foundation, I will open them all to the foundation.' If the thief of the national will wins, the Birlik Foundation will win, TÜRGEV will win. TÜGVA will win. Even worse, the Ensar Foundation will win. While they turn what Yılmaz Hoca has accumulated over 20 years into services and give them to you, he will hand over Eskişehir to the Ensar Foundation, which could not protect our children. There is no such thing; we are here, we will not let anyone exploit Eskişehir."

"WE WILL GOVERN TOGETHER..."

AKP's Hatipoğlu responded to Özel at an opening program he attended in Eskişehir. Hatipoğlu said the following:

"CHP's caretaker chairman, Mr. Özgür, has once again left his own business aside and tried to criticize me. It is doubtful whether he would understand if I talked about participatory democracy and the importance of non-governmental organizations for local democracy. Therefore, let me suffice by saying this: from the very first day I became a candidate, I have been stating that we will govern Eskişehir together with our citizens. Non-governmental organizations are the most important tool for citizens to make their voices heard. I said the same things at the Birlik Foundation and at the TMMOB. Once in office, we will increase the capacity and resources of our non-governmental organizations. We will govern Eskişehir together."
