New acting mayor appointed at Beykoz Municipality

The new acting mayor of Beykoz Municipality has been determined. CHP member Özlem Vural Gürzel has been elected as the acting mayor to replace Beykoz Mayor Alaattin Köseler, who was arrested and suspended from his duties as part of an investigation conducted by the Beykoz Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.

In the vote held at the Beykoz Municipal Council, CHP's Özlem Vural Gürzel received 18 votes, while the AKP candidate Sadullah Hasanoğlu remained at 13 votes. The CHP's majority in the council was a decisive factor in the election result.

With the election of Özlem Vural Gürzel, the management process at Beykoz Municipality is being reshaped, and CHP municipal council members expressed their wishes for this change to be beneficial for Beykoz. No statement regarding the election results was issued by the AKP group.

KÖSELER INVESTIGATION CONTINUES

The investigation that led to the arrest of Beykoz Mayor Alaattin Köseler is ongoing. While the judicial process for Köseler is being followed as part of the proceedings conducted by the Beykoz Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, the vacancy in the municipal administration has been filled on an acting basis.
