Republican People's Party (CHP) Zonguldak MP Deniz Yavuzyılmaz shared a new detail regarding the disaster in İliç in a post on his social media account.
'SUSPICION OF UNRECORDED EARNINGS ARISES'
"We have determined that the heap leach area where the disaster occurred at the gold mine in İliç, Erzincan, was not inspected," said Yavuzyılmaz, adding the following:
The heap leach area was not inspected by the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Environment, or the Ministry of Labor. If the ministries are not inspecting this area, who is inspecting how much gold is being produced from this site, and how! A suspicion of unrecorded earnings arises!
