New details emerge from the İmralı meeting: PKK leader Öcalan asked about Bahçeli's condition... Is the 'right to hope' on the agenda?

Following their third meeting with terrorist organization PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan, the DEM Party's Imrali delegation shared Ocalan's written message with the public in both Turkish and Kurdish. 

As the repercussions of the message continue, new details regarding the meeting have begun to emerge.

OCALAN CALLED ON THE PKK TO LAY DOWN ARMS 

In his message announced to the public through the DEM Party delegation, Abdullah Öcalan requested that all armed groups of the PKK lay down their arms and that the organization dissolve itself. While this call by Ocalan has resonated widely with the public, various discussions have begun regarding how the process will proceed.

OCALAN ASKED ABOUT BAHCELI'S HEALTH  

DEM Party Co-Chair Tülay Hatimoğulları shared striking details that came up during the meeting in a statement made on T24's YouTube channel. 

Stating that Ocalan asked about the health of MHP Chairman Devlet Bahceli, Hatimogullari said, "Mr. Ocalan had heard that Bahceli was ill and asked us about his health. We told him that he was improving."

IS THE DEMAND FOR THE RIGHT TO HOPE ON THE AGENDA?

Responding to a question about whether Ocalan had made any demands regarding the 'right to hope,' Hatimogullari stated that this topic was never brought up. 

Hatimogullari used the following expressions: 

"Mr. Ocalan did not make a demand such as 'get me out of Imrali, let me benefit from the right to hope now.' His only request was for the creation of conditions where he could communicate directly with both the state and his organization to fulfill the requirements of the call he made to his organization." 

'A RECORDING WAS MADE BUT WE DO NOT HAVE IT'

When asked about the microphone in front of her while delivering Ocalan's message, Hatimogullari stated that they had been expecting a video call. "The information given to us beforehand was that the call would be via video. That is what we expected as well. However, the statement made at the last minute was an unexpected development for us too. Ocalan said, 'do not get hung up on the method.' A recording was made during the meeting, but we do not have this recording," she said.

TERRORIST LEADER OCALAN WROTE THE LETTER BY HAND 

Speaking about the fact that PKK leader Ocalan's message was shared in writing, Hatimogullari stated that the letter was penned by Ocalan himself. "He wrote the letter in his own handwriting, and we conveyed it exactly as it was. We did not make any interventions regarding the content. If it had been an audio or video message, it would have appealed more to the Kurdish community, and the impact of the call would have been greater," she said.

Stating that Ocalan reiterated his approach expressed in the first meetings that "the Kurdish issue must be resolved on a political and legal basis, free from violence and conflict," Hatimogullari emphasized that the new message was also within this framework.

THE ORGANIZATION ANNOUNCED IT WOULD COMPLY WITH OCALAN'S CALL 

Following Ocalan's call, the organization's so-called Executive Committee stated that the organization would take steps in this direction and declare a 'ceasefire'.
