New development in IMM investigation! Decision made to continue detention
In the monthly detention review for Ekrem İmamoğlu, Murat Ongun, and other suspects arrested on March 23 as part of the "financial crimes" investigation targeting the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, the court decided to continue their detention. The release request for Resul Emrah Şahan, who is also in the same case file, was denied.

The monthly review was held for Istanbul Metropolitan Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, Medya A.Ş President Murat Ongun, IPA President Buğra Gökçe, as well as Serdar Haydanlı, Ali Nuhoğlu, and other detainees who were arrested on March 23 as part of the "financial crimes" investigation targeting the IMM.
IMM Mayor İmamoğlu submitted a petition stating he would not attend the hearing to be held via SEGBİS (Audio and Video Information System). The other detainees connected to the hearing via SEGBİS and requested their release.
As a result of its review, the court decided to continue the detention of 31 people, including İmamoğlu and Murat Ongun, on the grounds that "there is a possibility of destroying, concealing, or altering evidence, and exerting pressure on witnesses and victims, given the penalty amount foreseen for the crimes they are charged with."
