New development regarding the health status of imprisoned Beylikdüzü Mayor Çalık
The health status of Beylikdüzü Mayor Mehmet Murat Çalık remains serious. Having lost 18 kilograms in 99 days in prison, Çalık has been hospitalized in İzmir for inpatient treatment. His request for release will be evaluated based on the report from the Council of Forensic Medicine.

The treatment of Beylikdüzü Mayor Mehmet Murat Çalık, who was arrested as part of an investigation into the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality and transferred from Marmara Prison in Silivri, Istanbul, to Buca Prison in İzmir, continues in the hospital.
For Çalık, who has previously undergone cancer treatment twice, a request for release was filed last week on the grounds that his vital risk had increased under prison conditions. Following this, he was taken to İzmir Katip Çelebi University Atatürk Training and Research Hospital, where necessary examinations and tests were conducted before he was sent back to prison. As his pain recurred, Çalık was transferred to the hospital again on Monday, June 23.
Upon the decision of the doctors, it was determined that Çalık would receive inpatient treatment at Katip Çelebi University Atatürk Training and Research Hospital.
During the examinations conducted there, a mass was detected in the neck of Mayor Çalık, and a Pet-CT scan was performed.

It has been learned that, based on the scan results, Çalık will be referred to the Council of Forensic Medicine for examination. His lawyers will be able to file a request for release based on the report to be issued by the Council of Forensic Medicine.
