New party remarks from Özgür Özel: 'If Kılıçdaroğlu continues this line...'

As discussions continue following the absolute nullity decision within the CHP, notable assessments regarding claims of a new party have come from the party's last elected Chairman, Özgür Özel.

Responding to comments that he would form a new political party, Özel emphasized that they have no such plan under current conditions. Stating that the CHP is their party, Özel expressed that they would continue the struggle under the party's roof.

"WE HAVE NO INTENTION OF LEAVING THE CHP"

Speaking about the discussions regarding the formation of a new party, Özgür Özel said that the idea of leaving the CHP is not on their agenda.

Özel stated, "We have no intention of forming a new party or leaving the CHP for now. We will fight until the end. We will try all legal avenues. This party is our party. We have a bond of affection with this party's organization, its base, and its voters."

"WE ARE THE ELECTED LEADERSHIP OF THIS PARTY"

Making assessments regarding the party management, Özel stated that the current administration came to office through elections.

Speaking to Fatih Altaylı, Özel said, "We are the elected leadership of this party. Why should we leave? We believe we will take the party back from those who claim it is null and void."

"WE WILL FIGHT UNTIL THE END"

Expressing their determination to continue the political struggle within the CHP, Özel said that all legal avenues would be utilized.

Stating that they would fight within the existing structure rather than abandoning the party, Özel emphasized their political and emotional ties to the CHP.

"IF KEMAL KILIÇDAROĞLU CONTINUES TO SHRINK THE PARTY..."

Clarifying under what conditions the option of a new party might come to the agenda, Özel said this possibility could only be evaluated if the opportunity to engage in politics within the CHP were to disappear.

Özel stated, "If Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu continues to make the party a prop for the AK Party, shrinks the party, continues to strive to finish it off, makes it impossible for us to engage in politics within the CHP, and destroys our hope of bringing Turkey to a normal plane with the CHP; then a new party will be formed out of necessity."

"WE WILL NOT LEAVE THE CHP WITHOUT TRYING EVERYTHING"

Emphasizing that leaving the CHP is the last option, Özel stated that they would not give up the struggle.

Concluding his remarks, Özel said, "We cannot leave the CHP without struggling to the end, without trying everything, and without putting forth everything we can. We do not want to leave a single point in our conscience where we would say, 'I wish we had done that too.'"
