Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş made notable remarks regarding a possible Presidential candidacy. Yavaş responded to the question posed to him, "Will you be a Presidential candidate?"
While Yavaş did not make a definitive statement on the matter, noting that the current election agenda has not yet formed, he effectively left the door open for a candidacy by saying, "We will not shy away from the duty."
Speaking to Habertürk, Yavaş stated, "There is no election agenda in Turkey yet. Therefore, it is too early to talk about candidacy." Emphasizing that his primary priority right now is serving the people of Ankara, Yavaş expressed that everything outside of this issue is not on his agenda for the time being.
Stating that they would evaluate the situation in the future, Yavaş left the door open for a Presidential candidacy by saying, "However, when the day comes, if my party and my nation want to see us as a candidate, we will not shy away from this duty. Of course, we would be a candidate."
