Former MP Barış Yarkadaş has explained the process that Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu will follow after returning to the position of chairman in the CHP following a court ruling. The Ankara 36th Regional Administrative Court, in a decision announced today via UYAP, has annulled the 38th Ordinary Congress of the Republican People's Party (CHP). As a result of this decision, Özgür Özel, who was elected chairman at the congress, and the current party administration have been removed from office, and Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu has returned to lead the party.

Speaking after the court decision was announced, Kılıçdaroğlu stated, "May this be auspicious for Turkey and the CHP."

Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş, in a post on his social media account, criticized the outcome of the court ruling, emphasizing that the process was proceeding in ways contrary to democracy. Yavaş called for a swift congress, stating, "What needs to be done is not to escalate tension, but to act with common sense and announce that the party will decide on a congress within 1-2 months through its own will, and to manage the process within democratic traditions."

EARLY CONGRESS NOT EXPECTED

Following Kılıçdaroğlu's return to office, while the possibility of an early congress was being discussed, the steps to be taken within the party were announced to the public by former CHP MP Barış Yarkadaş during a live broadcast on tv100, one of the media outlets close to the government.

Yarkadaş stated that the possibility of an "early congress" is not on the agenda and that in the process, first neighborhood delegates, then district and provincial delegates and their chairs will be re-elected, and that the final step will be to hold a chairmanship congress.

In party circles, it is being commented that with these steps to be followed, it could take at least a year to organize a new congress in the CHP. In this case, a long-term renewal and restructuring process is expected for the party.
