New statement from Erdoğan on the Israel-Palestine issue
AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, in a statement regarding the Israel-Palestine issue on his social media account, stated that efforts would be made for a ceasefire, saying, "Those who pour gasoline on the fire with their statements are as responsible for the massacre as the perpetrators."

The statement by AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is as follows:
"I appreciate the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Executive Committee Extraordinary Meeting held in Jeddah for demonstrating the determination of the Islamic world, its solidarity, and its support for the Palestinian cause in a concrete way in the face of Israel's increasing oppression.
We have been making intense efforts since the first day to resolve the crisis that began on October 7 and risks spreading to our entire region. So far, we have held phone calls with 18 leaders at the level of heads of state and government. In cooperation with Egyptian authorities, we have delivered 3 plane loads of humanitarian aid materials to the region.
We continue to extend a helping hand to the oppressed people of Gaza, who have been living under blockade for 17 years. However, our efforts aimed at ensuring calm have been hindered by steps such as sending aircraft carriers to the region, cutting off aid to the Palestinian people, and the collective punishment of the people of Gaza.
The increasingly ineffective United Nations Security Council has once again failed to fulfill its responsibility. Western countries, which talk big about human rights and freedoms, have taken no steps other than fanning the flames.
International media outlets have entered a race to whitewash the human slaughter with their biased and hypocritical broadcasts. The bombing of innocent people migrating to areas called "safe zones," border crossings, mosques, schools, and civilian settlements are just a few of the war crimes we have witnessed in the last 12 days.
With the heinous attack on the Al-Ahli Arab Hospital yesterday, the massacre in Gaza has moved to another dimension. I condemn the perpetrators of this attack, which constitutes a crime against humanity and amounts to genocide against the people of Gaza.
Those who have poured gasoline on the fire with their statements since October 7 are as responsible for yesterday's massacre, which has seared our hearts, as the perpetrators themselves. I pray for God's mercy upon our 4 thousand Gazan brothers and sisters, most of whom are children and women, who were martyred in Israeli bombardments, and I wish a speedy recovery to our wounded. As Turkey, we will continue to work for the establishment of a humanitarian ceasefire first, and then for lasting stability."
