Following the final nullity decision within the CHP, elected Chairman Özgür Özel, who left the party headquarters, continues his field trips. Most recently visiting Eskişehir, Özel aims to increase his direct contact with citizens, according to information provided by party aides. Aides express the view regarding the nullity administration that, “They cannot go out on the streets, and even if they do, they are met with reactions. They are not accepted by society.”
The same sources assessed, “They go back and forth between the headquarters, their homes, and press conference halls. We, however, will continue to strengthen our bond with the public. We are met with serious interest on the streets and we want to maintain this. The streets are still the place where we can learn the citizens' demands from us most closely.”
The provincial visits by the Özel wing are seen as important both to keep public reaction alive and to gauge the possibility of a new party.
NEW MEETING FORMAT FROM KEMAL KILIÇDAROĞLU
According to the report by Cumhuriyet, it was conveyed that Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu is closely following the NATO summit. Party sources stated that following his statements regarding NATO, Kılıçdaroğlu plans to hold special press conferences in the coming period where he will take a social issue onto his agenda every week. In the new format, Turkey's current problems and Kılıçdaroğlu's proposed solutions will be at the forefront, rather than internal party debates.
The first meeting is expected to be held this Friday, and the agenda is expected to be the livelihood difficulties experienced by retirees and the Republican People's Party's work in this area. It was stated that internal party issues will be focused on in the Central Executive Board (MYK). Furthermore, it was noted that another MYK meeting could be held within this week. Following these meetings, the nullity administration is considering making management changes in district presidencies after provincial presidencies in order to increase its dominance in provincial organizations.
