Open letter to Erdoğan from Müsavat Dervişoğlu!

İYİ Party Leader Müsavat Dervişoğlu issued a harsh statement in response to the letter President Erdoğan wrote to the families of martyrs. Dervişoğlu penned an open letter to the President regarding the letter Erdoğan had sent to the martyrs' families. Criticizing Erdoğan, who stated in his letter that "we have protected the legacy of our martyrs and veterans," Dervişoğlu emphasized that negotiations with the killers of the martyrs are being condoned.

ERDOĞAN'S LETTER AND COMMISSION MEETINGS

In the letter he wrote to martyrs' families and veterans yesterday, President Erdoğan stated that Turkey is fighting terrorism effectively and that this struggle will be further strengthened within the scope of the Century of Turkey. In his letter, while giving a guarantee that there would be no bargaining, negotiations, or concessions regarding the families of martyrs and veterans, Erdoğan said, "The rights of our martyrs' families and veterans will never be violated."

On the other hand, the "Terror-Free Turkey" process, which is being carried out through a commission established in Parliament, continues. While preparations for the meeting to be held today at 14:00 are ongoing, Dervişoğlu's reaction to the President has also left its mark on the agenda.

"MARTYRS' FAMILIES ARE NOT BEING PROTECTED"

In response to the emphasis Erdoğan placed in his letter on "protecting the families of martyrs," Dervişoğlu stated, "You say we have protected the legacy of our martyrs and veterans, but you allow negotiations with their killers. You are conducting negotiations over the blood of our martyrs and making room for secret bargains."

DERVİŞOĞLU RESPONDED TO THAT LETTER WITH AN OPEN LETTER

Dervişoğlu's letter is as follows:

Mr. President;

In the process labeled "Terror-Free Turkey," which is being conducted under your administration with the promise of eliminating the scourge of terrorism hanging over Turkey, after holding meetings behind closed doors with a wide range of parties—from the ringleader of the terrorist organization to Qandil, from the Barzani lords to the political spokespersons of terrorism,

I find it positive, albeit belated, that you have remembered our sacred Martyrs' Families and Veterans. However, I wish you had been truthful when addressing the legacies of our heroes.

As you stated;

If the Ezan-ı Muhammedi (Islamic call to prayer) echoes in our skies and the Red Flag waves, we owe this to those heroes. One of the requirements of this unpayable debt is to never engage with the murderers who covet our homeland, to push their demands aside with the back of our hand, and to treat them as they deserve. You say, 'We have protected the legacy of our martyrs and veterans,' but you allow negotiations with their killers. You are negotiating, remaining silent while they target the title deed of our Republic, and taking their commission proposals and demands for the 'right to hope' as a basis, taking every step they desire. While saying you are on the side of our noble martyrs, you create the impression that you are consenting to the demands of their killers.

Mr. President; for that reason, you are not saving Turkey from terrorism; you are turning a blind eye to the terrorists' desires and ambitions breaching our defenses. When you came to power, terrorism was almost at zero. It had no strength left to move a finger. It has recovered and strengthened through the wrong policies and processes during your tenure.

And Mr. President;

Even while writing a letter to people who have given their children to this homeland, you mention economic loss and open new wounds. What kind of statement is the phrase, "We have forgone our trillions of dollars in resources," in the first version of your letter sent to the media, Mr. President? What is the point of talking about economic losses while addressing families who have lost their children? Moreover, is it appropriate for the President of the Republic of Turkey to try to whitewash the economic disaster you caused by taking advantage of the opportunity, and to give secret messages of the type "abundance will come at the end of this process"? Did you hear a single objection from our nation to the money spent for the needs of the army and security forces for this cause? The Turkish state and the Turkish Nation did not forgo trillions of dollars; they did whatever was necessary for the integrity of our homeland. It is clear that you saw this major error in the first version of the letter and had the necessary correction made. However, your subordinates and those who act like your spokespersons on screens continue to make this inappropriate emphasis, continuing to open new wounds in the hearts of our heroes' families.

This is a subject where honesty is a requirement. Those you appointed as officials regarding the process have bargained, negotiated, and made concessions. All of these are being spilled out into the open every day by the ringleaders and political representatives of the terrorist organization with whom you are conducting the process. You, on the other hand, are trying to cover the sun with mud. This is the truth that cannot be hidden.

Yes, Mr. President; may God be our helper on this wrong path you have entered. We are watching on behalf of the Great Turkish Nation. We will be the voice of the truth that our nation also sees. If, for one reason or another, you have been forced to enter this dangerous and wrong path, perhaps not as an individual, but when you seek a way out as the head of state, we will again be at our post, fulfilling our responsibility and duty.
