An operation was conducted against the Güzelbahçe Municipality as part of a zoning irregularity investigation led by the İzmir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. Five suspects, including Mayor Mustafa Günay, his wife Nermin Günay, former Mayor Özdem Mustafa İnce, and the zoning director, have been detained.

An operation was carried out in the morning as part of an investigation into the Güzelbahçe Municipality in İzmir. Acting on the instructions of the İzmir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, teams from the İzmir Provincial Gendarmerie Command conducted simultaneous operations targeting suspects for whom detention orders had been issued.
A total of 5 people, including Güzelbahçe Mayor Mustafa Günay, were detained as part of the operation.
ALLEGATIONS OF ZONING IRREGULARITIES AT THE CENTER OF THE INVESTIGATION
It was learned that the investigation conducted by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office was launched following allegations of irregularities regarding zoning practices at the municipality. It was stated that certain transactions related to the municipality are being examined within the scope of the investigation.
It was noted that Gendarmerie teams also searched the Güzelbahçe Municipality building during the operation.
WIFE AND FORMER MAYOR ALSO DETAINED
Among those detained were Mayor Mustafa Günay's wife, Nermin Günay, as well as the former Güzelbahçe Mayor, Özdem Mustafa İnce.
It was also stated that the municipality's zoning director is among those detained as part of the investigation.
PROCESSING OF THE FIVE SUSPECTS CONTINUES
It was learned that the processing of the 5 suspects detained in the operation is ongoing at the İzmir Provincial Gendarmerie Command.
