Operations to silence the opposition backfired: Major decline for the AKP!

The Office of the Chief Public Prosecutor of the Court of Cassation has published the current membership numbers of political parties in Turkey on its website.

According to the data, which is updated and shared with the public in the first week of January and July each year, the AKP lost over 250 thousand members but remained the political party with the highest number of members, with 10 million 878 thousand 733.

The CHP, on the other hand, gained more than 350 thousand new members. Thus, the CHP ranked 2nd in terms of the number of members, but became the party with the highest increase in membership. The number of CHP members rose to 1 million 903 thousand 432.

The MHP gained approximately 2 thousand new members, ranking third with 497 thousand 428 members.

MEMBERSHIP INCREASES FOR YENIDEN REFAH AND SAADET PARTY ALSO DREW ATTENTION

In the Court of Cassation data, where it was observed that the AKP lost a record number of members, the Yeniden Refah Party gained more than 27 thousand new members. The Saadet Party's membership increase also reached nearly 14 thousand.
