A striking claim has been made regarding Gürsel Tekin, who was appointed as a trustee to the CHP Istanbul Provincial Presidency. Journalist Ozan Gündoğdu alleged on the podcast program "Trend Topic" that Tekin spoke to him about plans to establish a new party and asked him to take on the leadership of this party.
Gündoğdu described the details of the meeting as follows: "Towards the end of the summer of 2024, Gürsel Tekin called me. We had never met before. He asked if I was in Istanbul over the phone and suggested we meet for a coffee. We met at a patisserie in Levent and spoke for about half an hour."
Stating that during the meeting, Tekin said that the "May 2023 elections were the last elections" and that a "new state order" had been established, Gündoğdu reported that Tekin expressed that power would not be transferred to either İmamoğlu or the CHP in this new order. While discussing his political background, Tekin stated that establishing a new party was the only solution.
"I REJECTED THE OFFER IMMEDIATELY"
Gündoğdu stated that during the meeting, Tekin made an unexpected offer to him: "I took a sip of my coffee, and Gürsel Tekin said, 'Ozan, my dear, we must establish a new party, and you should head it.'"
I could not hide my surprise at this offer. I thought I received such an offer because I am young and have a clean record. I rejected the offer immediately. Tekin said he would call again in three days and told me to think it over. He called again three days later, but I rejected it again, and the matter was closed.
