In line with this decision, Gürsel Tekin has been appointed to the Istanbul Provincial Presidency.
The removed official, Özgür Çelik, continues to wait at the CHP Istanbul Provincial Headquarters along with citizens who gathered there following the court's decision.
In a statement made via social media, Çelik said, "The organization is here. The people are here. We are here all night. The people's house, the ancestral hearth, is in safe hands."
