Özgür Özel and Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu to take the podium one after another in the same hall

YENİ Party Chairman Özgür Özel and Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu will hold consecutive group meetings in the same hall at Parliament today. Özel's speech will begin at 11:45, and Kılıçdaroğlu's speech will begin at 13:30.

Özel will take the podium at an open group meeting for the first time as the leader of the YENİ Party. Kılıçdaroğlu will also speak at a CHP group meeting for the first time following the absolute nullity decision.

The messages both figures deliver at the meetings will be closely watched in terms of the political agenda. It is expected that the "proposal" claim Özel voiced regarding Kılıçdaroğlu in recent days will also be reflected in the speeches.

Özel had claimed that it was proposed he remain as group chairman while Kılıçdaroğlu continue as chairman, and that there was talk of him being elected as a member of parliament in the future with the goal of becoming Speaker of Parliament.

On the YENİ Party front, the establishment process of the new party, organizational efforts, the latest data regarding memberships, economic topics, and operations targeting municipalities are expected to come to the agenda. In this context, it is stated that the detentions targeting the CHP-run Menderes Municipality may also find a place in Özel's speech.

Whether Kılıçdaroğlu will respond to Özel's criticisms and claims is a matter of curiosity. Kılıçdaroğlu last spoke at the CHP group in March 2023; he had bid farewell to the group at that time due to the presidential candidacy process.
