Özgür Özel corrects slogan chanted at rally: 'My child, is that the message we are sending?'

Addressing citizens in the Foça district of İzmir, CHP Chairman Özgür Özel responded to the slogan “In spite of everything, CHP; in spite of everything, the left” chanted at the rally by saying, “My child, is that the message we are sending now? This election is not a right-versus-left election; this is an election to bring a leader to power who will provide good service.”

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel addressed citizens at the Nihat Dirim Peace and Democracy Square in the Foça district.

Özel introduced his party's Foça Mayoral Candidate Saniye Bora Fıçı, noting that she is the district's first female mayoral candidate.

Criticizing the government during his speech, Özgür Özel responded to the slogan “In spite of everything, CHP; in spite of everything, the left” chanted in the square by saying, “My child, is that the message we are sending now? This election is not a right-versus-left election; this is an election to bring a leader to power who will provide good service. This election is a revolt against the government by millions who are tired of high costs, who have been pushed to the brink, and who have been impoverished. Change the slogan.”

Smiling, Özel added, “My friend who started that slogan, you have to listen to me first like a reading comprehension question, and then lead the slogan accordingly. The slogan that should follow is, ‘We will win by uniting.’”
