Election campaign announcement from Özgür Özel: 'We are taking to the field in 81 provinces'

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel traveled to his hometown of Manisa to take Nehir Zeyrek, the daughter of Manisa Metropolitan Mayor Ferdi Zeyrek, who lost her life in a tragic traffic accident, to the school where she would take the YKS exam. Responding to questions from members of the press there, Özel made important statements regarding the current agenda.

MESSAGE TO CONTINUE

Stating that they did not hold a rally this week due to the university entrance exam, Özgür Özel said, “We will have a rally in Tekirdağ tomorrow evening. However, this is not a rally, it is an action. And it will continue until results are achieved. We plan to increase and expand our rallies.”

REACTION TO THE SEARCH TARGETING İMAMOĞLU’S FATHER

Reacting strongly to the search operations conducted around the Balıkesir home of Ekrem İmamoğlu's father, Hasan İmamoğlu, Özel said, “I called Uncle Hasan and told him not to be upset, but he said, ‘Why should I be upset? It has been years since I left this place to the municipality, let them search all they want.’ They have completely lost their minds. Their conscience has fallen into that well, and their morale is at the bottom of the well.”

RESPONSE TO ALLEGATIONS OF MONEY TRANSFERS TARGETING SELİM İMAMOĞLU

Evaluating the allegations that Selim İmamoğlu transferred money abroad, Özgür Özel explained the process with the following words:

“Selim wanted to establish a company abroad. Mayor Ekrem opposed this for months, but Selim took the step by convincing his mother and grandfather. He made a small investment with the money Dilek Hanım exchanged. The MASAK report exaggerated the money by 3.5 times. Pehlivan also says it is one-third of that. He received the price of a house from his grandfather and half of that from his mother. Mayor Ekrem said the company is still there and might bring in money for the first time this year. Documents will be shown to those who ask.”

CHP TAKES TO THE FIELD IN 81 PROVINCES

Speaking about his party's plans regarding its election strategy, Özel explained the scope of the campaign with these words:

“We will take to the field in 81 provinces. We will be on the field with all our deputies, Party Assembly members, and provincial organizations. We will conduct campaigns with strong teams on behalf of our candidates. Wherever there is a problem, we will explain how Mayor Ekrem will provide a solution there.”

“WE WILL CONDUCT A 900-DAY CAMPAIGN”

The CHP leader emphasized that they will carry out an uninterrupted struggle until the election:

“We will conduct the most crowded, most energetic, most faithful, and most resilient election campaign in history. If the election is to be held in 900 days, we will work tirelessly and grow in numbers for 900 days.”

Özel also stood by the party members against whom investigations were launched, saying, “We vouch for the innocence of our friends. We believe they will be tried without arrest in a short time.”
