Özgür Özel explains his preparations against a 'disaster scenario'!

Making statements following the absolute nullity ruling, Özgür Özel stated that the CHP must hold a party congress without delay. Declaring that they will not accept an administration without a congress, Özel called on Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu to hold a new congress while also revealing that they are preparing for a potential new party in the event of a "disaster scenario."

As the debates following the absolute nullity ruling in the CHP continue, Özgür Özel, who was removed from his position as chairman, made striking statements to Nefes newspaper columnist Deniz Zeyrek. Evaluating many topics ranging from internal party congress debates to potential election scenarios, and from allegations regarding deputies and mayors to preparations for a new party, Özel stated that the CHP is facing a multi-faceted crisis.

"THE DOORS TO RECONCILIATION ARE OPEN"

Emphasizing that the congress must be held as soon as possible, Özel said that they are open to reconciliation on this issue but are strictly opposed to the postponement or cancellation of the congress.

Özel used the following expressions:

"All doors are open, provided that they hold the congress as soon as possible, as mandated by law, reason, conscience, and required by morality. We are closed to the option of not holding a congress. I will do whatever is necessary to hold the congress as soon as possible. I will reconcile with whoever takes that step. I will not reconcile with those who do not take this step."

"WE WILL NOT GIVE THE HEART OF THE PARTY TO ANYONE"

Drawing attention to the importance of the congress for the CHP, Özel argued that the party must be governed by elected bodies.

Özel described this situation with these words:

"They tell me, 'I don't want anything from you, I want half a kilo of meat,' but that half a kilo of meat is my heart. A party's congress, its election, and being governed by elected officials is the heart of the party. If you take the heart of the party, neither the brain nor the other limbs remain... That party becomes someone else's. That is why we have no intention of giving the heart of this party, the CHP, to anyone. Let them know that."

CALL TO KILIÇDAROĞLU: "LET'S GO BACK TO THAT DAY"

Stating that the 38th Ordinary Congress of the CHP must be held again, Özgür Özel made a call to former Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu.

Requesting that the will of the congress delegates be expressed once more, Özel spoke as follows:

"I am telling Mr. Kemal, let's go back to that day, and let those delegates—the delegates whose will is said to have been corrupted—hold this congress once more and have their say. What more do we want?"

"WE WILL NOT ENTER THE ELECTION WITH HIS LIST"

Recalling the statement made by Chief Advisor to the President Mehmet Uçum regarding a potential election date of "Sunday, April 16, 2028," and MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli's assessments regarding this date, Özel expressed their opposition to a one-year congress calendar within the CHP.

Emphasizing that the party administration must be determined by election, Özel used the following expressions:

"If there is one year left until the election at the end of the year, it is postponed. Let me tell you clearly: They are telling our deputies: 'Kemal Bey will make the deputy list.' No. Let me say it clearly; we cannot engage in politics with someone who manages the party without holding a congress, without being elected. I mean, going to an election or something."

Özel alleged that various suggestions were being made to some deputies and mayors.

In this context, he voiced the following claims:

"They are telling deputies, 'Stay in the party or support Kemal Bey, be here and we will make you a deputy,' and they are telling mayors, 'Those who stay here will not face operations. Those who go there will face operations.'"

"OUR PLAN A IS TO REMAIN IN THE CHP"

Stating that they have no intention of leaving the CHP, Özel said that their primary goal is to remain in the party and fight.

Özel said, "The CHP is a very precious party for us, and our Plan A is to stay here. But I see that the AK Party's Plan A and the null administration's Plan A is to distance us from this party. Our primary plan is to stay here."

STATEMENT ON NEW PARTY PREPARATIONS

Explaining that they are working on alternative scenarios for every possibility, Özel stated that there are preparations for the establishment of a new party.

Özel made the following assessment on this issue:

"There is also a preparation for the establishment of a new party. There is also the possibility of joining a few other ready-made parties. But none of these are for the sake of 'let's leave the party' from today to tomorrow. It is for the disaster scenario where the party becomes unable to enter the election..."
