In the CHP, which has left its 38th Ordinary Congress behind, new Chairman Özgür Özel will hold his first Party Assembly meeting today. Özel is expected to present his new MYK to the Party Assembly. It is stated that Özel will form his MYK entirely from new names, with the only exception being Selin Sayek Böke, who has previously served in the MYK, whom he will bring into his 'A-Team'.
NUMBER OF MEMBERS MAY INCREASE
Özel's 'A-Team' will function like a shadow cabinet. To this end, it is stated that a new restructuring will be carried out in the MYK and the number of members may be increased.
According to the report by Mehtap Gökdemir from Milliyet, while the name of Gökan Zeybek is being mentioned for the Deputy Chairmanship responsible for Local Governments, other names being discussed in the lobbies as potential members of the new MYK include Ankara MP Gamze Taşcıer, Istanbul MPs Özgür Karabat and Suat Özçağdaş, Sivas MP Ulaş Karasu, Hikmet Erbilgin, Izmir MPs Deniz Yücel and Murat Bakan, Balıkesir MP Ensar Aytekin, as well as lawyer Hüseyin Can Güner, economist Pınar Uzun Okakın, Sevgi Kılıç, former Dean of the Ankara University Faculty of Political Sciences Prof. Dr. Yalçın Karatepe, foreign policy expert Prof. Dr. İlhan Uzgel, and retired Rear Admiral Yankı Bağcıoğlu, who was detained for a time during the Military Espionage case.
KILIÇDAROĞLU'S ANNOUNCER DISMISSED
Barış Bozkurt, who served as the announcer and sound technician for former CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu during his provincial visits for years, has been dismissed. Bozkurt had been working at the CHP Headquarters for 29 years. Among the reasons cited for the decision was the failure to play the song “Merhaba” during Özgür Özel's entrance to the congress hall.
CHP MPS ON 'JUSTICE' VIGIL
The protest by CHP MPs, who have refused to leave the General Assembly under the banner of a "justice vigil" in response to the Court of Cassation 3rd Criminal Chamber's ruling on TİP MP Can Atalay, which they characterized as a “coup attempt”, continues. Within the framework of the protest that began on Thursday night, at least 20 CHP MPs will be in the General Assembly hall every day. The party's group management has determined the MPs who will hold the vigil until Tuesday in the first stage and has prepared a roster. Özel also came to the General Assembly on the first day of the protest to support the MPs. Özel stated, "We will continue the protest uninterrupted until a second decision is made."
