Özgür Özel's statement on the party congress: 'We will hold the wedding on Saturday and Sunday'

CHP Group Chairman and candidate for party leader Özgür Özel spoke at a press conference held at the CHP Şanlıurfa Provincial Headquarters. 

Özel expressed the promises he plans to fulfill if he becomes the party leader.

"THEY ARE ALL LOOKING INTO OUR EYES"

Emphasizing that there has been a major emotional disconnect among party members and especially among the youth who vote for the CHP at the end of this process, Özel stated the following:

"We promise a general chairman who sweats, a general chairman who runs, a general chairman who looks into your eyes, holds your hand, and works with you... We promise a general chairman who will lift Turkey and the Republican People's Party up with young cadres. In the process ahead, we will be together, we will work very hard. From November 6 onwards, the Republican People's Party in our 81 provinces and 973 districts will attain the happiness of the day after a wedding. We will hold the wedding on Saturday and Sunday. We will wake up on Monday as a much larger family. We will wake up with excitement and ready to succeed. Disgruntled youth, demoralized tradespeople, the desperate, the unemployed, the impoverished, and those whose labor is exploited in Turkey are all looking into our eyes."
