CHP Chairman Özgür Özel, in his speech at the collective opening and groundbreaking ceremony organized by Çekmeköy Municipality in Istanbul, sent greetings to IMM Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu and praised the daycare centers opened during İmamoğlu's tenure as mayor.
Özel said, "I congratulate Ekrem İmamoğlu, who has opened 104 daycare centers so far, when the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality did not have a single one."
HYGIENE AND NUTRITION PROBLEMS IN SCHOOLS
In his speech, Özel stated that children go to school hungry and return hungry, and called on CHP-run municipalities to install water dispensers in schools. Drawing attention to hygiene problems in schools, Özel also expressed the difficulties faced by the teams they sent for cleaning.
CALL TO THE MINISTER OF NATIONAL EDUCATION
Addressing Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin, Özel made a call, saying, "If this situation bothers you, give us a list of schools to clean or ask for the list requested from me. Let us come in the dark of the evening, without cameras, quietly, but let us save our children from disease."
THE TURKEY ALLIANCE WILL BRING SUCCESS
Stating that the Turkey alliance is a force that brings success, Özel said, "I invite everyone who has no problem with the homeland, the nation, the flag, and Atatürk to the Turkey alliance." The fact that IMM Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu did not attend the ceremony drew attention.
CLEANLINESS CRISIS HAD OCCURRED IN ANKARA AND BALIKESİR
Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality announced that it had established a team to provide cleaning support to all schools across the province.
However, following this announcement, it emerged that the Dursunbey District Directorate of National Education had taken a controversial step by instructing schools, "Do not make requests from the Metropolitan Municipality."
A similar situation occurred in Ankara in recent days. Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş stated that 113 out of 271 schools that requested cleaning services had withdrawn their requests, and that school principals were messaged, "Do not ask for anything from the municipality."
Reacting to the situation, Yavaş had said, "We are not providing poisonous food or anything. We are providing cleaning supplies. We are also willing to clean the schools. We find it truly strange that such an event has been brought to the country's agenda to this extent. We are ready to cooperate with all institutions. As long as the children there receive their education in a good environment."
