Republican People's Party (CHP) Chairman Özgür Özel held a meeting with his party's deputies in the Manavgat district of Antalya.

In addition to members of the Shadow Cabinet, members of the CHP Central Executive Board (MYK) also attended the three-day meeting.

Meeting with journalists after the meeting, where the roadmap for the local elections was discussed, CHP leader Özgür Özel answered questions regarding the agenda.

Stating that they put almost every issue on the table during the working meeting, Özel said, “Our friends poured their hearts out and shared their suggestions. We made decisions.”

“THE IMM HAS NO INVOLVEMENT WITH THOSE OUTSIDE OF ISTANBUL”

According to a report by T24; regarding the reminder of bureaucrats who resigned from the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) for mayoral candidacies and the allegations that “IMM Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu is interfering with the Headquarters regarding the candidacy process,” Özel said the following:

“They said '270 resignations', but it is actually 27... There are mortuary attendants, nurses, and medical technicians among them. A mortuary attendant might apply from the Saadet Party. But there are also a few high-level managers. There were those who wanted to contact me. There are certainly those who have intentions for Istanbul candidacy regarding certain districts. After all, everyone has the right to be a candidate. But as we said, there is a two-stage measurement and evaluation process. For example, Ekrem Bey told me about someone, 'He asked if he could talk to you, and I told him that he should talk to you himself.' But of course, regarding candidacies in Istanbul, the issue will be looked at together by the Provincial President, Ekrem Bey, and the Headquarters, specifically for Istanbul. The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality has no involvement with those outside of Istanbul anyway.”
