CHP Chairman Özgür Özel, after the April 23 special session held at the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM), said, "We will march from the Parliament we founded to our founder. No one can stop this."
CHP Chairman Özgür Özel, while leaving the TBMM General Assembly April 23 Special Session, responded to journalists' questions as follows:
"The Republic recognizes no bans. The Republican People's Party does not ask for permission from anyone to keep the Parliament it founded and the Republic it founded alive. We will march from the Parliament we founded to our founder. No one can stop this. Those who try to stop it only humiliate themselves. Challenge accepted! Let them try to stop us."
EARTHQUAKE STATEMENT
Giving a message regarding the earthquake in Istanbul, Özel said, "A 6.2 magnitude earthquake occurred in Istanbul today. We greet Istanbul from Ankara. We send our get-well wishes to Istanbul," he said.
Özel added, "We want to show those who want to stop us here once again the power of the nation and the power we receive from them. From here, we will all flow like a flood to Anıtkabir. We will embrace each other shortly."
CITIZENS REMOVED THE BARRICADES
Following Özgür Özel's speech, citizens removed the barricades and began marching to Anıtkabir.
CHP Chairman Özgür Özel participated in the march. Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş also took part in the march.
