Özgür Özel's harsh reaction to the court ruling: 'Let them keep playing in the sand'

Republican People's Party (CHP) Chairman Özgür Özel made a statement after the Istanbul 45th Civil Court of First Instance rejected the objection filed by CHP lawyers regarding the removal of CHP İstanbul Provincial Chairman Özgür Çelik from office. Özel criticized the court's decision harshly, describing it as "senseless."

REFERENCE TO THE CONGRESS WHERE ÖZGÜR ÇELİK WAS ELECTED

Reminding that Özgür Çelik was re-elected as CHP İstanbul Provincial Chairman at the congress held on September 24, Özel stated, "Our provincial chairman will officially take office with our certificate of election." In his statement following the decision, Özel criticized the Istanbul 45th Civil Court of First Instance, saying, "Let them keep playing in the sand."

"THE YSK'S DOMAIN WAS ENTERED, ELECTION LAW WAS SLAUGHTERED"

Describing the decision of the Istanbul 45th Civil Court of First Instance as "senseless," Özel said, "They entered the domain of the Supreme Election Council (YSK) and distorted the powers granted to them. They slaughtered election law." Özel stated that they would file a compensation lawsuit against the court and request the recusal of the judge. "We do not accept that the judge with whom we are in litigation appears before us again," he said.

APPEAL PATH OPENED, COMPENSATION LAWSUIT ON THE WAY

Özel said, "Although it is so delayed, it is a good decision. Because the path to appeal has been opened. Finally, our objection was rejected today, and the path to appeal was opened. We will apply for an appeal today or on Monday." He provided information that the appeal application would be made following the rejection of the CHP's objections. Stating that they would not give up on legal avenues regarding this process, Özel said, "We will be on their heels through legal channels; if they try to run, we will chase them."
