Özgür Özel says 'They were going to appoint a trustee to the IMM', Adil Karaismailoğlu responds

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel raised the claim that former Minister of Transport and AKP İstanbul MP Adil Karaismailoğlu was intended to be appointed as a trustee to the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM). In response, Karaismailoğlu rejected the allegations, stating, 'Özgür Özel continues to attack with his lies.'

Özgür Özel held a press conference today at the IMM building in Saraçhane. Addressing the arrest of Ekrem İmamoğlu as part of the IMM operation, Özel made the following remarks regarding Karaismailoğlu:

'They wanted to send a trustee to Saraçhane; someone whose name is Adil (Just), who has occupied the position of Ministry, a troll-turned-politician who couldn't even become a politician, rubbed his hands together saying, "Oh, I'm becoming the president of the IMM." They tried a Prime Minister, they tried a Parliament Speaker, they tried a minister, it didn't work. They tried to make a former Minister of Transport, an incompetent, ambitious person, a trustee here. The energy of the majority is behind İmamoğlu. Our nation has repelled the coup attempt against our future presidential candidate and has spat in the faces of these coup plotters. Today, there is a junta administration at the head of Turkey. They hold the general power; they have lost moral superiority, psychological superiority, and the energy of the majority. They are falling behind in the polls; there is neither the state nor the nation behind them!'

'ÖZEL CONTINUES TO ATTACK WITH HIS LIES'

Adil Karaismailoğlu reacted to Özel with a post on his X (Twitter) account. Karaismailoğlu wrote the following:

'Özgür Özel, whose Trabzon trip ended in a fiasco and who cannot answer the allegations brought forward by the judiciary regarding corruption, theft, bribery, extortion, and diploma fraud where the rights of hundreds of thousands of young people were violated, continues to attack with his lies. Since our people have the will to distinguish between real service and sincere politicians, they did not give credit to politicians who polarize our country and try to cast a shadow over the national will in Trabzon either. It is the most pathetic story of the CHP that someone who has not received their share of service politics, state seriousness, and the etiquette of the podium and speech occupies the chairmanship of the CHP, which claims to be the founding party of the Republic of Turkey. Özel, who brought back to the agenda an event that never happened, which was even personally denied by the CHP mayor of Adıyaman, has unfortunately chosen provocative spinelessness. Those who are worried about their seats can never understand those who are in a race of service.'
