Özgür Özel speaks on parliamentary immunity dossiers: "We cannot escape our responsibility"

The dossiers submitted to the Grand National Assembly of Turkey regarding the lifting of parliamentary immunity and compensation claims against CHP leader Özgür Özel and party officials continue to be a subject of public debate. Following the latest developments, Özgür Özel made significant statements regarding the pressure on politicians and potential concerns.

In response to the question, "Are politicians hesitant to speak due to these dossiers?" Özel replied: "People at our level who have taken on responsibility in politics do not have the right to think about these things and worry. We must courageously fulfill the requirements of our duty. We cannot ask those across from us, 'Why are you trying to cause trouble?'"

Last December, a total of ten immunity files concerning seven deputies, including CHP Chairman Özgür Özel and CHP Group Deputy Chairman Ali Mahir Başarır, were forwarded to the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. The dossiers submitted to Parliament have brought political debates and internal party evaluations along with them.
