CHP Chairman Özgür Özel was a guest on journalist Candaş Tolga Işık's program 'Az Önce Konuştum' (I Just Spoke).

While making statements regarding the process with the İYİ Party, Özel shared some details about the policies his party will follow regarding the local elections.

Özel's statements are as follows:

"I have a relationship with Mayor Ekrem where we tell each other everything we need to know, because otherwise there is a lot of disinformation.

LOCAL ELECTION STATEMENT

Our previous chairman, Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, had announced our 3 mayors. I see the response to these three names from all over Turkey. The Party Assembly has been elected, and I will express my opinion. I hope, and I don't think there will be a single objection in the Party Assembly. We are conducting satisfaction surveys for other municipalities.

If satisfaction is low in İzmir, Tunç Soyer cannot be a candidate. This is not a specific answer to Mr. Tunç.

WILL LÜTFÜ SAVAŞ BE A CANDIDATE?

In recent days, while working on the satisfaction survey, let's get the Hatay survey in great detail, according to political and district breakdowns, and according to all breakdowns, both those we have and those we don't. The decision we will make in Hatay will be a very historic one. We have to abide by whatever decision Hatay makes after the earthquake. I am curious about what the people of Hatay think. I was in Hatay 3 days after the earthquake.

Two feelings are competing with each other in Hatay. One is 'let's support the government so they don't leave us alone again.' The other is 'CHP municipalities did not leave us alone, we must do our part.'

If there is destruction in a city, everyone has responsibility. Some of the destroyed buildings belong to the local administration. If a fault is to be assigned, I cannot say that local administrations have no blame.

STATEMENT ON SELVİ KILIÇDAROĞLU

There is a misunderstanding. I was talking about the issue of 39 deputies. She said, 'Özgür, you were there too.' I said, 'I will explain, ma'am,' and took my seat. She asked, 'Weren't you on the commission of 8?' I said, 'I wasn't.' We kissed her hand and made peace. It wasn't 'You shouted a lot,' but 'You were there too,' she said.

İYİ PARTY MEETING

I feel quite good; I did what was expected of me. Turkey expects sacrifice and cooperation from us; in that respect, I expected hope, and I still haven't lost my hope. The alliance won't happen in that broad scope, but I can give authority to the local level. We did what we had to do; I respect their decisions.

SHEIKH SAID DEBATE

As the CHP, we are respectful of the republic and the founding cadres of the republic. We believe that if there are pains experienced in the past period of the republic, discussing these pains is not the field of hot politics, but the field of historians. We think that constantly turning back and picking at wounds regarding this issue does not benefit anyone.

I know that the Sheikh Said rebellion was an uprising against the republic. But if there were pains experienced during the suppression of this rebellion, one must be respectful of that pain.

STATEMENT ON HALİL UMUT MELER

I attach great importance to the text published by Ankaragücü today. You cannot attribute the person who threw the punch yesterday to Ankaragücü, nor can you attribute those who shouted 'Well done' in front of the hospital to them. The attitude that suits Ankaragücü is the attitude in the written statement."
