Following the announcement by the Ankara 36th Regional Court of Justice via UYAP regarding the 'absolute nullity' decision involving the cancellation of the 38th Ordinary Congress held on November 4-5, 2023, CHP Chairman Özgür Özel and the party administration were considered to have vacated their positions. According to the court decision, Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu was reinstated as the Chairman of the CHP.
On the morning of this development, upon the request of Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu's lawyer Celal Çelik, Ankara Governorate officials sent police teams to the CHP Headquarters. During the intervention at the building, police used pepper spray and plastic bullets, breaking down the garage door to enter. A forceful intervention was carried out against the CHP members present in the building during the operation.
As the crisis in Ankara escalated, enforcement officers and police teams went up to the 12th floor of the Headquarters and delivered the court decision and the building eviction notice to Özgür Özel. However, Özel tore up the notification documents without reading them. Özel stated, "They tore down the family home for this."
