While the CHP's Central Executive Board (MYK) meeting, expected to be held on Tuesday under the null-and-void administration, is anticipated to address new dismissals of provincial chairs and the party convention calendar, there is talk that the camp of elected Chairman Özgür Özel may take critical steps regarding an extraordinary convention application and preparations for a new party.

All eyes in the Republican People's Party (CHP) have turned to the Central Executive Board (MYK) meeting expected to take place this week.

At the MYK meeting expected to convene on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, who was brought to the CHP chairmanship by a decision of absolute nullity, the purge process within party organizations and the convention calendar are expected to be on the agenda.

With the dismissal of 7 more provincial chairs at the party's last MYK meeting, the number of dismissed provincial chairs had risen to 43. It is stated that similar decisions regarding some provincial chairs could be taken at this week's meeting.

PETITION FOR A NEW PARTY MAY BE FILED

In the camp of the CHP's elected Chairman Özgür Özel, the extraordinary convention process and possible preparations for a new party are being closely monitored. It had previously been stated that the signatures of more than 800 delegates had been submitted to Headquarters and that a deadline had been set until July 11 for action to be taken for an extraordinary convention.

According to Habertürk, it is being discussed that after this deadline expires, an application could be made to the court during the week. It is stated that if no positive step toward a convention comes from Headquarters by the middle of the week, the establishment petition for a new party could be submitted to the Ministry of Interior.

ÖZEL EXPECTED TO SEND A MESSAGE IN PARLIAMENT

CHP leader Özel is expected to meet with some of his aides at the Grand National Assembly of Turkey early in the week and to give messages regarding the process from the group podium on Tuesday.
