Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) Deputy Speaker and DEM Party Istanbul MP Sırrı Süreyya Önder was hospitalized yesterday evening due to a heart condition. Following examinations that revealed a tear in his aorta, Önder was taken into emergency surgery. After a challenging operation that lasted approximately 12 hours, Önder was moved to the intensive care unit, where his condition remains serious.
In a statement regarding Önder's health, doctors indicated that the intensive care process had begun following the intervention. It was stated that his vital signs are being closely monitored.
Following the serious health issue experienced by Sırrı Süreyya Önder, numerous political figures have visited the Florence Nightingale Hospital in Istanbul's Şişli district, where he is being treated, to convey their get-well wishes.

Republican People's Party (CHP) Chairman Özgür Özel has also been closely following the developments. A statement from the CHP announced that Özel will visit the Florence Nightingale Hospital at 17:00 today to see Sırrı Süreyya Önder.
CHP Istanbul Provincial Chairman Özgür Çelik also arrived at the hospital, met with DEM Party officials, and conveyed his get-well wishes. In his statement, Çelik said, “Our Chairman has various programs in Istanbul. As part of this schedule, he will also come to the hospital to convey his get-well wishes to Sırrı Süreyya Önder.”
