CHP Chairman Özgür Özel attended the funeral ceremony held at the Kahramankazan Central Ulu Mosque for taxi driver Murat Arslan, who was martyred in the attack on TUSAŞ facilities by the separatist terrorist organization PKK. Later, Özel went to the Ankara Bilkent City Hospital to visit those wounded in the attack and made statements. Özel delivered a message of unity.

Özel made the following statements:

"We have overcome a very great tragedy and a great danger, which could have been much worse, thanks to our police and special forces who intervened in the incident, despite our 5 martyrs and our wounded. We once again pray for God's mercy for our losses and wish a speedy recovery to our wounded," he stated.

CHP leader Özel said, "This is a situation where an attempt is being made to direct Turkey, determine its course, manage emotions, frighten people, and steer politics through a terrorist attack. Whoever does this, we must stand against them as one and as a whole. This is necessary when coup plotters attempt to do this, and it is also necessary when terrorism tries to reach its goal by frightening citizens and trying to steer politics by frightening society. We will not surrender to this; one must not surrender."
