Harsh rebuke from Özgür Özel: If I let them breathe, I'm dishonorable!

Speaking on the release of Hrant Dink's murderer, Ogün Samast, CHP leader Özgür Özel stated, "If I let the murderers of doves, those who pat the backs of those murderers, and those who release them when the day comes breathe in this state, then I am dishonorable."

Republican People's Party (CHP) Chairman Özgür Özel was a guest on the Yeni Bir Sabah program hosted by İsmail Küçükkaya on Halk TV.

WHAT DID HE DISCUSS WITH KURTULMUŞ?

Referring to his meeting yesterday with Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş, Özel said, "We discussed the debates regarding the Constitutional Court, we discussed issues related to the internal regulations, and we discussed areas where we could cooperate on certain tasks that the Parliament needs to perform."

"I WILL NOT BE PART OF ANYTHING THAT SOLVES THINGS ACCORDING TO ERDOĞAN'S WISHES"

Evaluating the crisis between the Constitutional Court (AYM) and the Court of Cassation, Özel said, "I will not be part of any effort with the Justice and Development Party that would weaken the Constitutional Court and resolve this judicial crisis according to Erdoğan's wishes. However, we would provide positive contributions to measures that would prevent such murderers from being released so easily, for example through execution regulations."

Özel continued as follows:

"The article regarding the Constitutional Court does not exist in the President's eyes; he has torn that page out and thrown it away. If you tear it up and throw it away, there is no guarantee that you won't tear up and throw away Article 80 regarding the Parliament tomorrow."

JUSTICE VIGIL: WE MUST RESIST, OTHERWISE OUR TURN WILL COME

Evaluating the Justice Vigil in Parliament, Özel said, "From now on, we must resist, otherwise our turn will come. We are doing something symbolic, but I am standing up for the Parliament. Until when? Until we make a second decision regarding our actions. Until we announce this to the public. Until this action is known to both the Turkish and world public. Countries subjected to coups seek international solidarity. Making this coup attempt visible internationally is not about complaining about Turkey. We are making visible in Parliament Tayyip Erdoğan's effort to suspend Turkey's constitutional order."

"IF I LET THEM BREATHE, I'M DISHONORABLE!"

Reacting to the release of Ogün Samast, the murderer of Agos Newspaper Editor-in-Chief Hrant Dink, Özel stated, "There is another structure in the depths, and they are saying, 'When the day comes, we will look after our murderer.' Let no one be afraid; when we said 'we are all Hrant,' it wasn't said in vain. We will not be finished by killing. From now on, let that deep structure know this: we are on their heels. From now on, they will not be dealing with us; we will be dealing with them. If I let the murderers of doves, those who pat the backs of those murderers, and those who release them when the day comes breathe in this state, then I am dishonorable."

KILIÇDAROĞLU RENTING AN OFFICE

Speaking about CHP's 7th Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu renting an office, Özgür Özel said the following:

"Our former Chairman will contribute to us in his capacity as a former chairman on important days or when he decides to meet with us. But I think it is extremely important that instead of Kemal Bey withdrawing to his home, he continues to make significant contributions to Turkish politics, not necessarily within a political struggle, but in an office."
