Özgür Özel’s 'nullity' message: 'We will not hand over the party to someone who hasn't been elected!'
CHP leader Özgür Özel spoke clearly regarding the party congress lawsuit, claims of 'nullity' (butlan), and internal party debates. Özgür Özel stated, "This party can only be set back by such debates. There will be no nullity, no trustee. Even if there were, we would not hand over the CHP to someone who hasn't been elected."

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel spoke to Deniz Zeyrek from NEFES while continuing his contacts in Germany. The first question directed at Özel was, "Why did you not establish direct contact with Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu during the party congress lawsuit process?"
Stating that he has never cut off communication with Kılıçdaroğlu, Özel said the following:
"I have always called Mr. Kemal personally and invited him to every organization. I supported him in meeting with close figures like Engin Özkoç and Vahap Seçer. I said that if he accepts, I would go to see him. If he had invited me, I certainly would have gone."
According to reports reflected in the press, it was alleged that Kılıçdaroğlu responded to this meeting offer by saying, "We will talk after June 30."
"THIS PARTY CAN ONLY BE SET BACK THIS WAY"
Özel reacted to the growth of "nullity" (butlan) debates within the party. The CHP leader, who said, "I am doing my best to prevent a crisis," continued as follows:
''As Chairman, I am fulfilling my responsibilities completely. However, injustices are also occurring during this process. They talk about tutelage, but Turkey can see how quickly we make decisions and how we work. We are not under tutelage."
"While the economic crisis is growing and the government is making mistakes in a panic, setting our party back with such a debate is the greatest harm. This party can only be worn down by such an absurd crisis."
SHARP REACTION TO THE PERCEPTION OF NULLITY: "A MENTAL BLOCK"
Özgür Özel reacted sharply to the claims that "a nullity decision will come from the court" ahead of the hearing on June 30:
"There will be no nullity, no trustee! Even if there were, this party would not be handed over to someone who hasn't been elected. But the harm of such debates only affects the CHP. Everyone who loves their party should stay away from this mental block. I reject both excessive sensitivity and excessive aggression."
"This fight affects not only individuals but also the future of our friends inside, the country, the youth, and the poor. Everyone should be aware of their responsibility."
"OUR STRUGGLE IS NOT JUST FOR İMAMOĞLU"
Özgür Özel also responded to criticisms that "the party's only agenda should not be Ekrem İmamoğlu." Özel emphasized that İmamoğlu's situation is not just about the freedom of an individual, but a political coup attempt:
"Tayyip Erdoğan is conducting a political operation against Ekrem İmamoğlu, who defeated him three times. The claims served in the pro-government media are collapsing one by one. This struggle is not just for freedom; it is also a struggle for bread, equality, and justice. If justice comes for Mayor Ekrem, it will also come to the kitchen and to taxes."
"CHP CANNOT BE BUILT ON JUST ONE NAME"
Expressing that the CHP's agenda is not just İmamoğlu, Özel also shared the topics that stood out in recent rallies:
"In the Bursa and Anatolia rallies, we raised the call for an interim raise for minimum wage earners. We voiced our demands for flat raises for retirees in the squares. For the first time, the government signaled that there could be an increase outside of inflation."
"We gave symbolic messages with a combine harvester in Tekirdağ and a tractor in Yozgat. 80 percent of our group meetings are devoted to the country's problems. Fundamental issues such as the economy, agriculture, wages, and poverty are our real agenda."
At the end of his speech, Özgür Özel emphasized that with the collapse of the rule of law in Turkey, the economy has also collapsed.
