Aydın Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Özlem Çerçioğlu has resigned from the CHP and transferred to the AKP. Following Çerçioğlu's joining the AKP, Jantsa shares experienced a rapid rise on Borsa Istanbul. Jantsa shares gained 5.29 percent on August 13, trading at 23.50 liras. This rise continued on August 14, following Çerçioğlu's announcement of her resignation from the CHP, and the share price reached 25.84 liras.
This increase in Jantsa shares indicates a value gain of 9.96 percent within two days. It is estimated that the gains of stock market investors during this period reached 200 million liras. However, this rapid rise caught the attention of the Capital Markets Board (CMB), and Jantsa shares have been placed under close watch for potential speculation.
In the balance sheet announced by Jantsa for the first half of 2024, there was a 25 percent drop in sales revenue, and the company had reported a loss. However, this sudden increase in Jantsa shares following Çerçioğlu's move to the AKP could positively affect the company's financial situation.
On the other hand, expectations that investigation files opened against Çerçioğlu could be suspended or closed following her participation in the AKP could increase Jantsa's economic gains. Furthermore, allegations such as public institutions turning to Jantsa for wheel purchases and the State Supply Office placing direct orders are also on the agenda.
